Mr. Amit Kumar Maharjan owns Ph.D. degree in Engineering from the Department of Natural, Biotic and Social Environment Engineering in University of Yamanashi, Japan. His research interest is in the development of biological systems that are locally fitted, compact, and decentralized (LCD), for the treatment of water and wastewater. At present, he is working as a researcher in a project, titled “Reinforcing and accelerating technologies for ensuring domestic water security by water resources diagnosis and decentralized treatment system” under Interdisciplinary Centre for River Basin Environment (ICRE), University of Yamanashi, Japan.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuwan University, Nepal in 2008 and 2017, respectively. He is a Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) registered engineer and member of NEA and SOPHEN. He has gained broad experience in design and construction supervision of residential buildings, roads, and water supply schemes, environmental impact assessment of civil engineering structures, etc.
